It’s Transformation Tuesday – Today we want to share Jess’ story!

I’m super proud of the results Jess has achieved. In just 5-weeks, Jess dropped 4.5% body fat, increased her muscle tissue by 2.8%, and has had a great attitude the entire time.

Each week, we will share a success story from a PTF team member who has transformed their body and their life.

Take it away Jess…

Tell us about yourself! Where are you from, what do you do for yourself?

I’m 25 & from Kingscliff, NSW. I play hockey and have so for 10yrs but up until a year ago had not done any other fitness besides this.

How long was it between your before and after pictures?

5 weeks

What made you decide to change? What was your biggest inspiration to finally change your habits and life?

My biggest inspiration was myself.

I had reached a goal that I was happy with in January this year. I was 57kg with 14% body fat (on a BioPrint caliper test).

By July this year I had gained 4kg and 9% body fat due to the loss of a loved one who died suddenly & unexpectedly in January.

What goals did you set for yourself in order to make a change?

I was ready to make a significant change one step at a time and set a simple goal of losing 2kg in 4-weeks.

How did you stay motivated to keep on track?

I remembered the feeling of happiness I got from eating clean, and the amount of energy I had.

I remembered being happy with what I saw in the mirror and proud of small achievements I made along the way and I wanted all of that back so badly.

Did you have any setbacks along the way? If so, how did you overcome them?

I did struggle to rid my bad eating habits once I had started at Priority 1 but I allowed myself to be human so I just took the process one step at a time.

It took me a few days to get over sugar cravings. Occasionally I had a small treat…. Pete encouraged small treats, and not feeling guilty. I was proud of myself for knowing that each day I was making another positive change and was heading in the right direction for the first time in 5 months.

How has P1 helped you change your life?

By not punishing me for slip ups and errors but simply saying that we all do it just get back on track now.

That really stuck with me and helped me get through. Pete & Simon put so much effort into their jobs and are just as keen as you are to reach your goals.

What advice would you give to somebody starting out?

If you have stopped training and want to get back into it or want to start for the first time Priority One is the place to go! I have trained in 5 different gyms and nothing compares to the knowledge and friendly advice you receive from the PT’s here.

At P.1 you are not just another client, instead your goals are taken seriously and you are guided each step of the way to reach them. If you think you’ve tried it all and nothing is going to work for you well that’s because you haven’t been to the best.

You will not be disappointed by going to visit Priority 1. I know I have not looked back since starting in July!

What are you doing now to keep up with your healthy lifestyle?

Training at P.1 5 days a week and eating fresh nutritious foods every day.

What are some of your favorite healthy foods and snacks? What do you eat for a typical day?

Breakfast: large glass of water with fresh lemon, meat & vege omelette or scrambled or boiled eggs.

Post workout snack: piece of fruit

Lunch: meat & salad (my fave is roasted sweet potato & pine nut salad)

Snacks: celery, carrot, cucumber & capsicum sticks with home made hummus or avocado dip. Or a handful of nuts (almonds normally)

Dinner: chicken or beef, steamed veg & roasted or mashed sweet potato.

What is your workout routine like?

Training full body, high intensity sessions 5 times a week. Occasionally swim laps on a weekend or go for a walk or bike ride.

What advice would you give someone who needs motivation and encouragement to change their life?

It’s best to start with small goals and work your way up. Maybe train 2-3 days to start with and change 1-2 bad habits and go from there.

It’s not a race to get results quick smart because you are more likely to fail that way.

Before you know it you will have all this new energy, confidence, happiness and motivation to keep going. And just like me you won’t want to stop!

Jess 🙂
